Dear Saint Charles family and friends,
The images we saw on our TVs on January 6th, which showed the attacks on our nation’s capitol, have been troubling to say the least. For Catholic Christians, we would have expected to see Christ, the prince of peace and justice, shown to us on that weekday of Epiphany.
Instead we saw our fellow countrymen and women charging upon our leaders in the capitol building in a confrontation that led to four persons losing their lives. This is yet another tribulation that threatens our Christian faith. Some parishioners are distressed, anxious, afraid, doubtful, disappointed, tired, and falling apart. I have felt one or two of these emotions myself.
“Knowledge is power” said one renowned western philosopher. So, in light of the recent unfortunate incident of January 6th, I invite you to join me for a special Q&A on Catholic Faith session this Saturday evening, January 9th, at 7pm on ZOOM.
Join in and let us discuss the ways our faith can sustain ourselves during these trials and tribulations.
May God bless the United States so that we can remain a beacon of hope for democracy and freedom for other nations of the world.
Blessings,
-- Fr. Kwame
