Dear St. Charles Family,
This is a correction to my earlier flocknote: During Sunday's 11:30 am Mass, we will be celebrating Youth Confirmation instead of First Eucharist. I apologize for this oversight!
This Sunday's 11:30 AM Mass:
As a friendly reminder, we will be celebrating Youth Confirmation on Sunday, May, 30th at 11:30 am. All seating in the church is reserved for families and guests of the Confirmation Group. Others may attend the overflow in Borromeo Hall. We are requiring that all who plan to attend the overflow. Alternatively, you can sign up to attend the 7:30 am or 9:30 am Mass in the church.
This Evening's Adult Bible Study Session:
During this evening's Adult Bible Study session, we will be discussing Jesus' Ministry Outside of Galilee (Jerusalem). You may download the handout now, and join our group on Zoom at 7:00 pm, and the passcode is 178404. I look forward to seeing you there!
Bishop Barber:
Many of you have been informed about the recent unfortunate robbery of our Most Holy Bishop Michael Barber. Bishop Barber is doing fine. However, he was robbed while walking near the Cathedral in Oakland at gunpoint. His Bishop's ring and wallet were stolen. Bishop Barber has been a strong advocate against gun violence. You may view the news coverage of this incident here. Please continue to pray for Bishop Barber and his safety.Tragic Shooting in San Jose:
Equally important, there was a mass shooting that took place yesterday at the VTA in San Jose. Let us pray for the families who have lost their loved ones during this horrible tragedy.
Holy Trinity:
This Sunday we will be celebrating the Most Holy Trinity. I welcome all to join me to attend one of the in-person Masses or to view our worship from your home. The liturgical color for this Mass is white. I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
Blessings,
Fr. Kwame
