Join Us to Hear Fr. Bonacci Explore the Faith Traditions of Humankind!
Fr. Bonacci was ordained in 1972 for the Passionist Religious Order of the Roman Catholic Church. He is Executive Director of the Interfaith Peace Project. The Interfaith Peace Project helps people cope with fears, prejudices and stereotypes concerning people of different races, religions and cultures.
Fr. Bonacci grew up in a blighted area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in an interfaith neighborhood, surrounded by a mixture of immigrants who spoke Ukrainian, Russian, German Polish, English, Hebrew and Yiddish. At 16, when he moved from the inner city to the suburbs, he lost the interfaith world of multiple languages and multiple races. He spent his entire college career and university career trying to recover what he had lost. As he journeyed, he kept meeting people along the way, especially in New York City who helped him take notice of his own experience.
For Fr. Bonacci the Interfaith Peace Project is an experience that was retrieved not an idea that came along.
Fr. Bonacci is a recognized scriptural scholar. His presentations do not disappoint!
