Dr. Lassalle-Klein is the co-founder of the Oakland Catholic Worker (OCW), which has been welcoming migrant families and providing healthy meals to East Oakland residents for over 35 years. Dr. Lassalle-Klein will be accompanied by two OCW Case Managers, Faith Kersey-Bronec and Leidi Merida.
Faith recently returned from two years in Peru as an international Jesuit Volunteer and Leidi is a wife, mother and refugee from Guatemala.
Dr. Lassalle-Klien earned his doctorate in Philosophy. He currently teaches Religious Studies at Holy Names University and is a published author of five books. His current book projects include Voices of Migrants and Refugees with Jesuit Service International in Rome, and Jesus the Migrant, a Christology grounded in the spirituality of the OCW community.
Dr. Lassalle-Klien and his wife Lynn had thier first dat at OCW. They have two children, Kate, Rose and Peter who have grown up with migrant friends. Dr. Lassalle-Klien is also a Deacon for the Diocese of San Jose. His mission is to serve the Hispanic-Latino community.
