Dear Saint Charles Borromeo Family:
As you read this flocknote, I am traveling to my home country of Ghana, along with 19 St. Charles parishioners! Once there, I will be celebrating with my classmates who were also ordained as priests 25 years ago.
Meanwhile, last Saturday's festivities and your acts of kindness are still warming my heart and creating fond memories that will last a lifetime. I can't thank you enough for your showing of love and support. I also profusely thank the volunteers and staff who created such a wonderful event.
Parishioner/photographer Piotr Jaworowicz has provided us with many beautiful pictures from the occasion. I hope everyone takes the time to view them. (Thank you, Piotr, for sharing your talents with our community!)
Before traveling to Ghana, Holly O'Hagan and I recorded our annual Raffle Prize Drawing video, in which this year's raffle winners were randomly selected and later informed of their prizes. I offer my congratulations to all of the winners and a very special thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle!
Fr. Augustine Joseph, who will become the new pastor of St. Charles Borromeo on December 1, will visit Livermore this Sunday and preside over our 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. Masses. I encourage you to introduce yourselves to Fr. Augustine and welcome him with open arms!
As a reminder, this Saturday is the day for us to honor our veterans. Let us not forget the significant, extreme, and sometimes ultimate sacrifices made by the over 41 million veterans who have served for the sole purpose of protecting us, the citizens of the United States, for the last 247 years.
Blessings, everyone!
