Dear Parishioners,
First Friday Adoration
The devotion of the nine First Fridays is based on visions reportedly received by the Visitation nun, Margaret Mary Alacoque, who promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. According to Alacoque, Christ said,
"In the excess of the mercy of My Heart, I promise you that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who will receive Communion on the First Fridays, for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in My displeasure, nor without receiving the sacraments, and My Heart will be their secure refuge in that last hour."
The first Friday devotion can take many forms. Attending Holy Mass and receiving Holy Communion in a state of grace is an important part of it. In many Catholic communities, the practice of the Holy Hour of meditation during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the First Fridays is encouraged.
This Friday, January 5, between the hours of 5:00-6:30 p.m., Deacon Dave will be hosting “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.”
The Family Rosary
Our family Rosary is being held in the Chapel EVERY Thursday at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to participate in the ‘guided’ rosary. It is said that “the family that prays together stays together.”
Welcome to our Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord
Join us this Saturday at 5:00 p.m.,
or Sunday at 7:30, 9:30, or 11:30 a.m.,
and celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord!
Epiphany could mean an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure. On the feast of Epiphany, the Church celebrates the manifestation (epiphany) of Christ to the Nations (Gentiles) in the persons of the Magi—also known as the Wise Men or the Three Kings. In earlier times, this feast combined two other manifestations that took place at the Lord’s Baptism and in Cana at the Wedding feast. This is still the custom in Eastern Christianity.
