Dear St. Charles Parishioners...
• Parish Mission: Thank You!
I wish to thank all the members of our Church who participated in our parish Lenten mission earlier this week. If you were not able to attend, you may view the live-stream videos here. I also owe a big thank you to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal for animating this year's mission. Additionally, I thank Angela Schweig for organizing this outstanding event. We appreciate all of her hard work to ensure everyone had the opportunity to grow closer to Jesus and one another. Finally, thank you to Roy and Sandra Cavallini, Steve and Janis Cambell, the Men's Club, and our SET team for preparing dinners for our visiting Friars and providing a wonderful reception after our Lenten Mission.
• Visiting the Homebound and Sick:
In recent days, I have been visiting all of the homebound and sick members of our parish. To accomplish this endeavor, I have been working with the coordinator of this important ministry, Diane Meredith. Our ministry for the homebound is a vital part of our parish, even though the recipients cannot attend Church in person.
In return, our homebound parishioners have expressed their gratitude for all the prayers they receive, and they pray for our Church. I take this opportunity to thank our Eucharistic ministers for their generosity in bringing the body of Christ to the sick and homebound each week!
If anyone is in need of a visit, please contact Diane Meredith or the parish office.
• Fish Taco Friday - Tomorrow Evening at 5:00 p.m.
I invite everyone to attend and enjoy Fish Taco Friday, which begins at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow in Borromeo Hall. For the following three Fridays in Lent, fish taco dinners will be served in the St. Michael parish hall.
• Adoration Postponed:
We have decided to postpone tomorrow's monthly adoration due to our three-day parish mission. Please join us on Friday, April 5, for the next adoration of the Holy Eucharist.
• Easter Memorial Flowers:
During the Easter season, our Church will be adorned with beautiful flowers, plants, and shrubs -- all donated by generous members of our community. This is a wonderful way to remember loved ones during this season. If so inspired, you can donate by contacting Mary Hengl, or you can donate online. (Be sure to select "Memorial Flowers Christmas/Easter" from the drop-down menu.)
• Holy Week:
This year's Holy Week is right around the corner! Be sure to mark your calendars for March 28 – 31, as we will come together to celebrate Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday as a community in God’s spirit.
Yours in Christ,
--- Fr. Augustine Joseph
