Dear St. Charles Parishioners...
True Christian love epitomizes the essence of selflessness and compassion, transcending mere sentimentality to embody Christ’s teachings of unconditional love and empathy. Rooted in the biblical commandment to “love thy neighbor as thyself,” it extends beyond the boundaries of familiarity, race, or creed.
At its core, true Christian love is marked by sacrificial actions and genuine concern for others’ well-being. It prompts us to extend grace and forgiveness, mirroring the boundless mercy shown by Jesus Christ, his suffering, passion, death, and resurrection. This love seeks not to judge or condemn but to uplift and restore.
Moreover, true Christian love manifests in tangible deeds of kindness and service to those in need. It invites us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and shelter the homeless, embodying Christ’s example of compassion towards the marginalized and oppressed.
In essence, true Christian love serves as a beacon of hope and reconciliation in a world often marred by division and strife. It fosters unity amidst diversity, bridging gaps of misunderstanding and fostering a sense of belonging within the Church community.
As followers of Christ, embracing true Christian love invites us on a transformative journey of humility, grace, and compassion, empowering us to reflect the light of God’s love in our interactions with others.
I invite everyone to participate in the holy celebration of Triduum. “I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:18-19)
“… may Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.” (Ephesians 3:17)
I wish everyone a Happy Easter and the blessings of the risen savior!
