Dear St. Charles Parishioners,

We will be holding our annual Bishop’s Ministries Appeal promotion this weekend. The appeal, One Church Many Ministries, is a vital initiative for several reasons, especially within the context of a diocese or religious community:

Financial Support for Ministries: The appeal provides essential funding for various diocesan ministries and programs. This support enables the church to continue its pastoral, educational, and charitable activities.
Community Outreach: Funds raised often support outreach programs that serve the needy and vulnerable and health services. This helps the church fulfill its mission of serving the broader community.
Educational Programs: The appeal can help finance religious education programs, Catholic schools, youth ministries, and adult faith formation. These programs are crucial for nurturing faith and ensuring the future vitality of the church community.
Clergy and Seminarian Support: It often provides for the training and education of seminarians and ongoing formation for priests and deacons. This investment ensures that the diocese can continue to have well-prepared clergy to lead and serve its congregations. It also helps with clergy retirement.
Operational Sustainability: The appeal can cover operational costs that might not be met through regular parish collections. This ensures the diocese can maintain its operations and continue its various ministries effectively.
