Your dedication, time, and warmth brought our community together in a truly special way. Your efforts made this Easter celebration not just an event, but a cherished experience. We are deeply grateful for your love, spirit, and incredible teamwork.
- The Divine Mercy Devotion:
Our Catholic spiritual practice centered on the mercy of God, as revealed through the visions of Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who lived in the early 20th century. Jesus appeared to her and conveyed the message that God’s mercy is limitless and available to all, especially sinners. Central to the devotion is the image of the Divine Mercy, depicting Jesus with rays of red and white light emanating from His heart, symbolizing the blood and water that flowed from His side during the crucifixion.
The Divine Mercy Chaplet, a prayer given to Faustina by Jesus, is often prayed using rosary beads, focusing on God’s mercy and asking for it upon oneself and the whole world. Another key element is Divine Mercy Sunday, celebrated on the Sunday after Easter, which was officially established by Saint Pope John Paul II in 2000. On this day, Catholics are encouraged to go to confession and receive Holy Communion to obtain special graces.
The devotion emphasizes trust in Jesus, acts of mercy toward others, and prayer for the conversion of sinners. Its core message - “Jesus, I trust in You - reflects a call to rely on God’s mercy as a path to healing and salvation.
In our Church, we will be praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy after the 11:30 AM Holy Mass. All are welcome to join this prayer experience.
- Pilgrims of Hope:
Our Parish is organizing a pilgrimage to Mission San Jose in Fremont on Saturday, May 10. There will be a Holy Mass celebrated at the Mission with all pilgrims at 10:00 AM. It is part of the Year of Hope pilgrimage.
By participating in the pilgrimage, one may obtain the Holy Year Plenary Indulgence.
All members of our parish who wish to participate in the pilgrimage are invited to sign up after all Masses this weekend.
