Dear fellow parishioners,
Our community is incredibly generous in contributing to our own parish and to many exemplary causes and nonprofits. We thank God for your willingness to share your time, gifts, prayers, and financial resources.
This weekend (September 13th and 14th) is Mission Appeals weekend. We are fortunate to have priests representing the Khmu Catholic Community Mission with us while Fr. Augustine is away on pilgrimage. Fr. Benedict (Ben) Wonganant (from St. Anne parish in Union City) will celebrate the 5 PM Mass with us. Fr. Lee Chompoochan (from Christ the King parish in Pleasant Hill) will celebrate all the Sunday Masses.
Reading Father Augustine's book, based on his experience as a missionary, made the beauty and challenges of mission work more real to me. The clergy, employees, and volunteers in mission work partner with the Lord to share the message of Christ's saving love with others, while sacrificing their own comfort and security.
We thank you in advance for your loving support. We ask especially for your prayers for the Khmu Catholic Community Mission and all missionaries and mission communities. Whatever donations you feel called to give are greatly appreciated. Your support will contribute to the evangelization and humanitarian relief efforts of Catholic missions in the United States and around the world.
To God be the glory,
Shannon Zelinka
Liturgy Coordinator
"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God can provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work."
