SERVE THE LORD IN GLADNESS!
Our ministry sign-ups will take place from January 17 to February 15. It is being done in stages. Ministries that are most in need of volunteers will be spotlighted - you will hear about them in announcements, the bulletin, and flocknotes. Ministry sign-up tables will be at the entrance of the church.
A Unique Opportunity:
Volunteering is a great way to serve our Church and become more deeply connected to our parish family. Through volunteering, parishioners have the opportunity to share their time, talents, and gifts while helping our church continue its mission of faith, service, and community. Whether you are new to the parish or have been a member for many years, there is a place for you to serve, grow, and make a meaningful difference.
Some of the ministries are explained below:
- Our Hospitality Ministry is often the first welcoming face people encounter at church. Volunteers help greet parishioners and visitors, create a warm and inviting atmosphere, and ensure everyone feels at home. Serving in hospitality is a simple yet powerful way to show Christ’s love through kindness and presence.
- The OCIA Sponsors Ministry supports individuals who are exploring or preparing to enter the Catholic Church. Sponsors walk alongside candidates on their faith journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and prayer. This ministry is deeply rewarding for those who enjoy mentoring and sharing their faith.
- The Amazing Grace Funeral Reception Ministry provides comfort and care to grieving families by helping host funeral receptions. Volunteers assist with setup, food service, and hospitality, offering compassion during a difficult time and helping families feel supported by their church community.
- Our Grief Support Ministry serves those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Volunteers help facilitate a safe, caring environment where individuals can share, heal, and find hope through faith and fellowship.
- The Men’s Club strengthens fellowship and service among men of the parish through projects, events, and outreach.
- Vacation Bible School (VBS) and Children’s Liturgy of the Word invite volunteers to help nurture the faith of our youngest members in joyful and meaningful ways.
- Finally, Office Help Volunteers provide valuable behind-the-scenes support that keeps parish life running smoothly.
By signing up to volunteer, you help build a stronger, more caring church for everyone.
A complete list of ministries in need of volunteers/members can be found here: stcharleslivermore.org/volunteer, in the bulletin insert, and in the back of the church.
I take this opportunity to thank all who serve our Church in different ways.
May the Lord who knows your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment endow you with rich rewards.
