“Making Room for Prayer
in the Middle of Real Life.”
Dear Parishioners:
Life is full…
Full calendars. Full schedules. Full plates.
And for many of us, prayer is something we want to do more consistently… but somehow it’s often the first thing that gets pushed aside when life gets busy. That’s why this year’s Lenten Mission feels so timely.
On Thursday and Friday, February 26 and 27 at 7:00 p.m., we welcome Fr. Brendan McGuire for a two-night mission focused entirely on prayer… what it is, how it grows, and how it can realistically become part of everyday life.
Fr. Brendan will be sharing what he calls the Levels of Prayer… the natural ways our relationship with God deepens over time. Sometimes prayer looks like talking to God. Sometimes it’s learning how to listen. And sometimes it’s simply resting in God’s loving presence. None of these are better than the other… they are just different stages of a relationship that grows slowly, honestly, and over a lifetime.
This mission is not about adding one more thing to your already packed schedule. It’s about starting small… going deeper… and realizing that God is already waiting for us right where we are.
As a mom of four and a grandmother, I know how hard it can be to carve out quiet moments. Between work, family, practices, school events, and the constant pull of responsibility, the idea of “finding time to pray” can feel overwhelming. Fr. Brendan speaks directly into that reality. His approach to prayer is simple, practical, and deeply encouraging. He reminds us that prayer does not have to be complicated to be life-changing.
Whether you are brand new to prayer, feel stuck or distracted, or are longing to go deeper in your relationship with God, this mission is for you. Fr. Brendan draws from Scripture, real-life experience, and spiritual wisdom to help us see prayer not as something we have to get right, but as a relationship that unfolds over time.
This mission is for parents, grandparents, young adults, teens, retirees… truly all ages. Come as you are. Come tired. Come curious. Come hopeful.
If you can give yourself just one evening -or both- this Lent, consider stepping away from the busyness and allowing God to meet you there. Sometimes the most beautiful changes begin with something as simple as showing up.
