“Come Holy Spirit, Come”
Pentecost is the feast that celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, empowering them to live and proclaim their faith with courage. For you today, Pentecost is not just an event of the past; it is a living reality that shapes how you listen, decide, and act each day.
The prompting of the Holy Spirit works quietly but powerfully within you. It often comes as a gentle inner nudge, a movement toward kindness, patience, truth, or forgiveness. When you feel inspired to help someone, speak a word of encouragement, or choose what is right even when it is difficult, that is the Spirit at work in you.
Pentecost reminds you that you are not left to navigate life alone. The Holy Spirit guides your conscience, helping you discern between what leads to life and what leads away from it. This guidance is especially important in moments of confusion or uncertainty, when decisions are not clear. By pausing, praying, and being attentive, you become more open to these promptings.
At the same time, the Spirit gives you strength. Just as the apostles moved from fear to boldness, you too are given courage to live your faith openly - whether through your actions, your words, or your values. The Spirit equips you with gifts like wisdom, understanding, and fortitude to face daily challenges.
However, responding to the Spirit requires awareness and willingness. Distractions, habits, or fear can make it easy to ignore these inner movements. Pentecost invites you to be attentive, to listen more deeply, and to act when you sense that quiet call.
In your life today, Pentecost means being led from within by God’s presence, guiding you toward love, truth, and a deeper purpose in everything you do.
Our church ministries flourish through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. He inspires our service, strengthens our faith, unites our community, and leads us in love and compassion. Through His wisdom and grace, every ministry becomes a living witness to Christ’s presence, bringing hope, healing, and joy to all we serve.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, who has taught the hearts of the faithful
by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant that by the gift of the same Spirit
we may be truly wise and ever
rejoice in his consolation,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
This is a traditional Catholic prayer (often called the Emitte Spiritum)
invoking the Holy Spirit to inspire, guide, and purify.
Chapel Renovation Project
Update
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of several donors, we have already received $11,201.31 toward our $20,000 goal for our Chapel renovation project!
Renovations are scheduled to begin in July. While we are making steady progress toward our fundraising goal, we still have a way to go. Every contribution—no matter the size—will help us continue this important work for our parish community.
If you are able, I invite you to prayerfully consider making a gift or encourage others to support this effort. Together, we can reach our goal and bring this renovation project to completion.
Thank you for your continued faith, commitment, and generosity!
