You Are My Defender and Protector (Psalm 91:2)
At Saint Charles Church, we place our trust and safety in the loving care of our Lord Jesus Christ, who watches over His people in every circumstance. At the same time, we recognize our responsibility to be prepared, vigilant, and ready to assist one another in times of emergency.
In this spirit, we are forming a Safety Committee dedicated to helping our parish respond effectively to emergencies of every kind, including fire, medical situations, earthquakes, severe weather, and incidents of violence.
The purpose of this committee is to create a safe, welcoming, and well-prepared environment for all parishioners, visitors, children, seniors, and staff who gather in our Church and parish facilities. Members of the committee will assist in developing emergency plans, coordinating training sessions, improving communication procedures, and supporting safety awareness during parish events and liturgies.
We warmly invite all St. Charles members and parishioners who have an interest in service, emergency preparedness, healthcare, safety, communication, or simply a desire to help others to prayerfully consider joining this important ministry. No special experience is required - only a willing heart, a spirit of cooperation, and a commitment to serving our parish community.
Together, guided by faith and wisdom, we can help ensure that our church remains a place of peace, protection, and compassionate care for everyone. May the Lord bless this new ministry and all who choose to serve through it.
After all is said and done, “Our safety is with the Lord” (Proverbs, 21:31)
I want to thank Roger Bloom, Dennis Mastrantonio, and Rob Allen for taking leadership in the committee.
Solemnity of Corpus Christi
The Feast of Corpus Christi reminds me that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, not only in church but also in daily life. It calls me to approach Holy Communion with gratitude, reverence, and faith. This feast encourages me to become more loving, humble, and compassionate toward others, because receiving Christ should transform my actions.
Processions, prayers, and adoration deepen my sense of belonging to the Christian community and strengthen my relationship with God. Corpus Christi also reminds me that spiritual nourishment is essential, giving me hope, peace, and courage to live faithfully and serve others with joy every day.
