Welcome to OCIA

We invite and welcome you to participate in this year's Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), which begins on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 pm in the Pope Room. We are delighted to host everyone who is open to God’s invitation to begin or continue your journey of faith in the Catholic Church. Whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time, seeking full communion with the Church, or completing your Sacraments of Initiation, know that you are warmly welcomed into a community that walks with you in faith, hope, and love.

OCIA is not simply a class or a program. It is a journey of conversion - a time to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ and discover the beauty of the Catholic faith. Throughout this journey, you will have opportunities to pray, ask questions, study Sacred Scripture, learn the teachings and traditions of the Church, and experience the support of a caring faith community. No question is too small, and no one is expected to have all the answers. We are all pilgrims growing together in our knowledge and love of God.

This journey invites you to encounter Christ personally. As you learn about the Gospel and the life of the Church, you will discover that faith is not merely about knowing doctrines but about entering into a living relationship with Jesus, who calls each of us by name. Through prayer, reflection, and participation in the liturgy, you will come to appreciate God’s presence and His loving plan for your life.

The parish community, catechists, sponsors, and clergy are here to accompany you every step of the way. They will share their faith, pray with you, and encourage you as you discern God’s call. Together, we seek to build a welcoming community where everyone feels valued, respected, and loved.

As you begin this sacred journey, remain open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. There may be moments of joy, challenge, and discovery, but God is faithful and walks beside you through every step. Trust that He has brought you here for a purpose and will continue to lead you closer to Him.

We pray that this experience will strengthen your faith, fill your heart with peace, and inspire you to live as a joyful disciple of Christ. May you find lasting friendships, grow in wisdom and grace, and profoundly experience the love of God.

OCIA is also good for people who want to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, even though they have been Catholics for a long time.

New Youth Minister

On behalf of the parish family of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, we extend a heartfelt thank you to Amanda Swinkles, who is taking on the role of our new Youth Minister. We are delighted to have her begin this new ministry, and look forward to her faith-filled leadership and joyful presence among our young people. Join me in prayer, as we ask God to bless her richly as she begins this wonderful ministry on August 1st.

A Note of Gratitude

We extend a warm thank you to all our parishioners for your prayers, generosity, and financial support for the renovation of our Parish Chapel. Your faith, kindness, and commitment have made this project possible. We also express our sincere appreciation to Deacon Martin for his dedicated leadership and coordination throughout the renovation.
