New Year of Faith Formation
and Youth Ministry!
Registration for all Formation and Sacrament programs is open for the 2026-2027 school year! For any new or returning parishioners who may not know, St. Charles offers programs for all children from preschool through high school. We strive to support growing disciples in their faith journeys from the youngest ages, building strong and lifelong relationships with God our Father through loving, developmentally appropriate, and dynamic programs. For children ages 3-TK, the Tiny Treasures preschool program runs on Sundays during the 9:30 Mass. Children explore God’s wonderful world by learning about the story of Creation and the important part they play in it with sensory-friendly, play-centered activities and process-based crafts. Drop your children off at the Dominic Room (room 8 in the Keeley Center courtyard) before you head into Mass, and pick up your child from the plaza right outside the church immediately afterward. Classes start September 13th!
Our Kindergarten-5th grade Faith Formation offers three sessions for families to choose from in order to offer flexibility and accessibility. Families have the option to switch sessions midyear if their schedules change. We have:
Tuesday afternoons 3:45-5:00 pm, Kindergarten through 5th grade
Tuesday evenings 6:15-7:30 pm, 1st through 5th grade
Wednesday afternoons 4:30-5:45 pm, Kindergarten through 5th grade
* Please note that our evening session does NOT include kindergarten class!
Our Faith Formation program uses Our Sunday Visitors’ Alive in Christ curriculum. Students will receive a 15-minute Gospel Introduction Lesson with me, and an hour with their grade-level catechist in their classroom. Classes start September 15th!
Middle School Youth Ministry takes place Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm. Students can be dropped off as early as 6:30 for 30 minutes of unstructured social time to build their community. MSYM focuses on weekly in-depth Gospel lessons to better prepare students for the Sunday celebration. When they attend MSYM throughout all of middle school, they will experience a full guided liturgical cycle and have the opportunity to experience church as a place that belongs to them. Students are encouraged to participate in Mass weekly and get involved in liturgical ministries. Through MSYM, students get to grow into a more unique and individual relationship with Jesus. Classes start September 16th!
Last but certainly not least is our High School Youth Ministry program! HSYM is a new addition to my role that I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to enter and have the privilege of being a part of our teens’ faith journeys. HSYM runs on Monday nights from 7:00- 8:30 pm. Students will get to explore different aspects of our faith, ask questions, pray as a group and individually, and grow their confidence and spirituality in this dynamic program. I look forward to bringing back some of our St. Charles traditions and seeing what amazing things our youth can do in our community. Youth will have opportunities to go on retreat, take on leadership roles within the ministry and community, complete service projects for our parish and greater Livermore community, and grow in fellowship with their peers. Classes start September 14th!
Classes start in just a few weeks! If you want to get involved in any of these ministries, please do not hesitate to reach out! We are looking for help in all of our programs, Kinder-12th grade. We need lead catechists, classroom helpers, and small group leaders. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to shepherd our youth as they grow in love with God.
