The Mission Co-op Appeal -
Welcome, Sister Bency!
As we continue our journey through Ordinary Time, the Church reminds us that discipleship requires both commitment and compassion. Last Sunday's message called us to place God at the center of our lives, to follow Christ with generous hearts, and to embrace the responsibilities that come with being His disciples.
As members of the Body of Christ, we are invited to look beyond ourselves and recognize our connection to the wider Church throughout the world. This spirit of faith, sacrifice, and solidarity prepares us in a special way to welcome those who share with us the Church's missionary work and the many ways the Gospel continues to transform lives across nations and cultures.
This weekend our parish is blessed to welcome Sr. Bency Ukken (Sr. Mary Stella), a representative of the Mission Diocese of Konongo-Mampong in Ghana, who will speak at all Masses as part of the Church's Mission Co-op Program.
The Mission Co-op Appeal gives us a concrete opportunity to live out this Gospel message. By welcoming Sr. Bency and learning about the faith-filled people of the Diocese of Konongo-Mampong, we strengthen our bond with our brothers and sisters in Ghana and throughout the universal Church. Her witness reminds us that the Church is truly global, united in faith, prayer, and service.
A special second collection will be taken at all Masses this weekend to support Catholic missionary work in the United States and around the world. These contributions help provide pastoral care, catechetical formation, support for seminarians and religious, educational opportunities, healthcare initiatives, and outreach to communities in need.
We encourage all parishioners to listen prayerfully to Sr. Bency's message, offer a warm welcome, and respond as generously as possible. Through our prayers, hospitality, and financial support, we become partners in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with people across the globe.
May the Lord, who is "kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich in compassion," bless our parish and all those who dedicate their lives to missionary service.
